I moved to Minto in 1987. It was good, the neighbours were all lovely. Everyone was friendly. My fondest memory is when they built Minto Mall bigger. I would prefer though, to forget the coppers chasing all the idiots.
I remember especially my next door neighbours, Kerry and Margaret. Lynn has always been kind because whenever we have accidents with our children we always rely on Lynn to take us to the hospital.
An important event was my son being born here and my daughter finishing Year 12. I was involved in my kids school. I did the gardens, reading, helped with the school production every year. Any cleaning that needed to be done, I was always there to do that. Any books they wanted covered, Id do all that. That has stopped now because primary school has finished.
The main two cultures here are Aboriginal and white people. But, as the years have passed, there are more New Zealanders and Islanders.
Now, we have more shops, Aldi food shops, more industries coming here. And more communities coming in. And a soup kitchen!
